    *Highlands (5-0) defeated Parliament, 42-30, to win Division 3 of the Northern Virginia Swimming League's diving competition. The Whomping Turtles and coached by Stephanie Sutton with the help of assistants Abby Neuberger and Cameron Hancock.

    Against Parliament, Highlands' Evelyn Gray and Maggie McDonough finished first and second in freshman girls and Michael Pope was second in freshman boys. Katelyn Bond, Madeline Neuberger and Hallie Pope swept the the junior girls and Johnny Bowman and Scott Calendar finished first and third in junior boys. Hancock and Rebecca McGovern were first and third in intermediate girls, as were Scott Sawicki and Timmy Jenkins in intermediate boys. Abby Neuberger was third in senior girls and Ian Clark was second in senior boys.

    At the Division 3 championships Hancock finished first; Gray, Pope and Bond were second and Bowman was third.

    *The Hamlet Swim Club (4-1) completed its dive season in Division 5 of the NVSL with a 42-30 win over Sleepy Hollow Recreation Association. Hamlet finished second in the division. Hamlet started the meet with a sweep of the freshman girls event, with Madison Fletcher placing first, followed by Danielle Fairchild and Michelle Martin. Steven Marinaro placed first for Hamlet in the freshman boys event, followed by Joska Gal.

    Halie Simkins placed first in junior girls for Hamlet and Erin Reilly was third. Hamlet swept the intermediate boys event, with Carson Simkins, Collin Moffett and Rob Knepper taking the top three spots. Tess Rosenthal and Tessa Newland placed first and second in the senior girls event. In senior boys, Hamlet's Jed Metge was third and his brother Trager Metge was fourth.

    On July 20 at the Crackerjack Invitational, Hamlet's Marina Terry, in the girls age 7 category, and J.T. Meyer, in boys age 12, finished first. Michael Esposito was second in the 8-under boys. Andrew Havasy was fourth in the 13-15 boys event, and Halie Fairchild was fourth in age 7 girls.

    *The Dunn Loring Dolphins (4-1) defeated Chesterbrook, 47-25, to finish second in Division 1 of the NVSL. Truro (5-0) won Division 1, and was last defeated in 2004.

    First-place finishers for Dunn Loring were Chelsea Taylor, Neal McElhattan, Annika Dirkse and Katherine Van Winkle. Finishing second were Johnny Corish, Zoe Scopa, David Tecala, Jessica Taylor, Jimbo Briody, Cassie Self and Sean Ryan. Third were Macy Blakely, Emily Reinhart, Bradley Cazenas, Rachel Waldron, Kelly Corish and Patrick Reed. Taylor, Briody, Self and Ryan broke pool records. The meet was the final dual for Dunn Loring senior divers Lauren Parkhurst, Maureen Reed and Self.

    *Tuckahoe had 13 divers compete in the recent Crackerjack meet, with five divers earning medals. Those five were age 9 girls champion Lillie Saba, Lizzie Mennitt (third, age 6 girls), Natalina Koludrovic (sixth, age 8 girls), Eric Lewis (sixth, age 9 boys) and Annie Sible (fifth, age 10 girls).

    In its final dual meet this summer, Tuckahoe lost to Hayfield Farm. In senior girls, Samantha Winter won for Tuckahoe, as did John Short in junior boys. Second for Tuckahoe were Alex Wadle (senior boys), Kate Ray (intermediate girls), Charlie Whelden (intermediate boys), Claire Lewis (junior girls), Delaney Gallagher (freshman girls) and Philip Greco (junior boys).

    *The Oakton Otters finished 3-2 in Division 5 of the NVSL.

    First-place finishers in recent meets for Oakton were Elana Colvert, A.J. Colbert, Emily Rakosi and Andrew Sargent. Taking second were Layne Stikeleather, Laura Branton, Alyssa Worsham, Daniel Nugent, Kellie Ruffer, Elana Cobert, Emily Rakosi and Matthew Bocharnikov. Third were Alana Moore, Haley Worsham and Kellie Ruffer.

    *Cardinal Hill (3-2) won its final Division 1 meet over Vienna Woods, 39-33. Maxine Nussbaum took second and Nicole Huffman third in freshman girls for Cardinal Hill. Bryce Shelton and Erik Sahlgren were first and second in freshman boys. The junior girls were lead by Morgan Stahl (first) and Sydney Shelton (second). Reed Albrittian placed second in junior boys. Annie Greenwood won the intermediate girls and Zach Stahl (second) and Jack Albrittain (third) earned points in intermediate boys. For the seniors, Kelly Crider took second for the girls and Alex Asta second for the boys. Shelton broke the freshman boys record with a total of 124.65 points and Morgan Stahl broke the junior girls record with 131.60 points.

    In the Crackerjack Meet at Cardinal Hill, the host team's Jack Feenick was third for 8-year-old boys and Nicholas Gariepy was fifth for 9-year-old boys.

    *In Division 7 of the NVSL, Great Falls won its final two meets to finish 3-2. Against Canterbury Woods, Great Falls dominated, winning 47-6. The freshman girls team of Meagan Fountain, Kathryn Hanna and Ellie Smith swept the first event. The freshman boys followed with a first and second by Patrick Corrigan and Eric Eichler. In junior girls, Carly Yosaitis took first with Emily Hines second. Gabe Fowler and Paul Hefner were second and third in junior boys. For the intermediates, Caroline Lee and Luke Fowler both won. In senior girls, Andrea Sawchuk nipped teammate Kim Pilka 234.75-233.15. It was Sawchuk's final NVSL meet and the former Langley High School diving standout will be diving at Virginia Tech this fall.

    In it final meet, Great Falls nipped Dominion Hills, 32-31. In the freshman girls and boys, Fountain was third, while Corrigan and fellow teammate Jack Grimm were first and third. Nia Casso and Hines were second and third in junior girls while Paul Hefner was first. The intermediates dominated, with Samantha Kobor and Luke Fowler both taking the gold. Pilka won for the senior girls, with Kevin Kennedy of Great Falls taking a bronze for the senior boys.
